Custom Photo Gifts

One very common and most enjoyed action by all on every occasion, or any special gathering, or when visiting a new place is clicking lots of pictures. I do not think any of you deny if I say, these photos will need to be turned into beautiful memories reminding us about the beautiful times we have had. I do believe in this. And turning these photos into beautiful photo books / photo calendars or any other photo gift is one of my best interests. I had made collages of our wedding pictures, and other type of photo displays. And I usually send photo magnets, photo books as gifts to my parents and family. And everyone love the photo gifts as they are reminders of good times and also you can either display them (like photo calendar or magnets) or one can share the joy with friends and relatives by showing their photo books. Believe me photo gifts are the most loved and cherished gifts :)

Though I would love to show my work, these are personal and so I cannot post any pictures :(. But I usually use shutterfly, snapfish and some other Indian websites for my photo gifts, and customize them. However these are some snips from the websites to give you some idea about how beautiful they can look :)

Thread Bangles & Jewelry

This is the latest and popular DIY jewelry which most of the DIYers are attempting and the reason for this is how beautiful they are. After seeing them in my native country, my mom had sent me the material for this, and here I go. And some other are in the process of being made.

Quilling Earrings

After I had made several paper crafts, one of my friends suggested to try paper jewelry. That's when I tried paper quilling and earrings. They are very pretty and neat. Some of my friends had tried after seeing what I had made. I'll post pictures of the quilling earrings I had made.

3D Orbs / Sun-bursts

As mentioned earlier, I liked 3D crafts over 2D. And so I wanted to make one too good decor for my living room. I had to brainstorm so much before finalizing on this idea. And it all paid off so well at the end. These are a big hit.
You may not be able to understand the dimensions of these in this picture but the big one is about 1.5 feet in width and 1.5 feet in height.

Ganesh Idols

In India during August-September of every year, we celebrate Ganesh Chathurthi with great fervor. As part of this festival, we'll have to pray for a clay idol for about 11 days, and immerse the idol in water after 11 days. We get these idols for sale during that season in India. When I came to US, I had tried making these idols with play-dough and clay. I am going to now post all the idols that I had made for my home and also all those which I had helped my friends make.

Random DIY

I really did not understand how to post some of these random crafts that I had made on different occasions. And so I thought I would have one post for all these DIY.

 1. Leaf Ganesha - You will not believe if I say with what I had made this from. Any guesses? I am sure no one can guess right (because this is a weird one :P), I had made this from Jason's Deli to-go box :D

2. Spoon Mirror - Made this from dollar tree spoons and used acrylic paint.

3. Paper flower - From a dollar store construction paper

4. Fall wreath

5. Bird in a cage - used Dannon yogurt lid for the base, foam sheet for bird, craft paper and thread

6. Made this pom pom 1 for a colleague's baby 1st b'day

7. Christmas Trees - I used dollar tree vase as base, and used beads for silver-red, and red. Light card board gift box they give during Christmas season as base, and paper for one, green ribbon for other.

I sometimes think out of the box (good way to call than am weird at times :P), and use stuff for my crafts. And my hubby comments, even the one who made or invented an article would not guess, someone on earth will use it like you just did :D

Mondocherry Photo backdrop

One of my friends loved my Mondocherry Abstract Ganesh, and wanted me to help her to make something in mondocherry art as their anniversary decor. And we both had come up with this beautiful and colorful wall decor which turned to be a beautiful photo backdrop.
